Did You Know How Many Calories Does Breastfeeding Burn Per Ounce?
Hello moms… I just wanna make some explanation about how many calories does breastfeeding burn per ounce. Let’s calculate calories while breastfeeding.
I have been able to lose weight and still maintain a milk supply. I’m pretty excited about that. I’ve lost 47 pounds so far since she was born. And the basic thing to think about is if you can figure out how many ounces your baby is eating per day. Then that’s really helpful because from what I understand each ounce of breast milk is 20 calories for the baby.
Now what I do is I just calculate that as if. I burned 20 calories making it, so you add 20 calories onto or add 20 calories per ounce onto your eating plan to still be able to lose weight.
For example, if you’re doing the 21-day fix, I added you know a good 600 calories on. And you will need to recalculate it as your baby gets bigger. Are you getting snugly anyway? For example, when she was three months old I was adding like maybe 300 calories per day. But then a few months later I started feeling like I was starving, and I couldn’t figure it out.
Finally, I calculated again and she was eating five ounces every time she ate. If you think about that five ounces x 20 calories that’s 100 calories every time she was eating, and she was eating six to eight times a day, and so that’s a lot.
Then I personally would add up how many calories does breastfeeding burn per ounce per day, and then I was kind of undercut it a little bit.
Honestly, I know that I kind of cheat a little bit. I still have my chocolate that kind of stuff and for the 21 days fix you a lot of times have to go up one of the things. For example, if I wasn’t rest feeding I’d be in the 1200 to 1400 calories section plan.
I was going up to the 1800 calorie plan you know from 1200 calories. If you’re using my fitnesspal which I did use that also, then what I did was I actually made. I would make it be like an exercise I added it.
It says create your own exercise and I would put breastfeeding. And I said 240 minutes you know for the whole day and 600 calories, so I add that on so that.
I would still be able to figure out how many calories per day I needed and still lose the weight. I hope that helps just try to figure out. You know and again my baby did eat bottles also. So like I was pumping, I was working full time and everything, so I would just ask my caregivers or they care or my nanny.
You know how many ounces she was eating each time and I’d kind of average that? Of course a little more difficult to figure out if you only are breastfeeding and never have given your body baby a bottle of breast milk.
You know that’s just basically one way to figure it out so again 20 calories for every ounce that eat and I also kind of undercut. It just in case they eat a little less on some days and I’m kind of cheating with an extra cookie or something.
I hope this how many calories does breastfeeding burn per ounce article can help you moms, have a great day and see you later.
